Every two years, more than 1,000 student leaders and 25 leading advocates for international development meet for the Millennium Campus Conference (MCC). The inaugural MCC, held at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2008, brought students together with advocates including Dr. Paul Farmer, economist Prof. Jeffrey D. Sachs, former USAID Administrator Henrietta Fore, John Wood (founder of Room to Read), Ira Magaziner (chairman of the William J. Clinton Foundation's international development initiatives), five-time Grammy-winning musician and activist John Legend, and Augustine Mahiga, Permanent Ambassador of Tanzania to the United Nations. MCC 2010 is tentatively scheduled to host more than 1,800 student leaders and 40 leading advocates in September 2010 in New York City. The event will feature both professional and student speakers, and include keynote addresses, lectures, breakout sessions, a networking fair, a career fair, and small group meetings between MO leaders and leading advocates.
